Youth Out Loud
Jo Vannicola founded and was the executive director of Youth Out Loud between 2004 to 2009. YOL is dedicated to raising awareness about child abuse and sexual violence, the intersecting realities of the epidemic of violence against children, and the conditions that allow it to continue. YOL still exists and functions mainly as a website and resource for those seeking information, and or for those who wish to contribute.
We believe that speaking out about racism, systemic oppression, misogyny, homophobia, and classism is the only true way to freedom and equity for all.

ME TOO/ TIME’S UP
Me Too is dedicated to speaking out about sexual violence in all forms. It was founded by Tarana Burke in 2006.
Time’s up is invested in equity for all women, parity, economic freedom, and providing resources for girls and women.

Margaret’s Place
Margaret’s Housing and Community Support Services (Margaret’s), is a multi-service agency that provides a continuum of housing options to women living with mental illness and substance use, and innovative community-based support services for individuals experiencing intersectional issues tied to mental health challenges and homelessness.

The outACTRAto Committee is dedicated to raising awareness about LGBTQ+ performers, our stories and our place in the industry and society. We value diversity and equality and we aim to be recognized, supported and valued as LGBTQ+ performers. We aspire to educate and inform our industry about realistic LGBTQ+ representation on screen as we seek a more accurate and balanced reflection of our rich and multifaceted community. We denounce and will work to end harassment and stereotyping of any kind. We will work to achieve true-to-life LGBTQ+ onscreen visibility of our culture and our stories, and to realize change in our industry. Vannicola spearheaded and chairs the committee.
We’re Funny That Way
The mission of the We’re Funny That Way Foundation is simple and clear. We are a national fundraising organization whose goal is to raise funds to support queer organizations across Canada. Specifically, the We’re Funny That Way Foundation aims to donate funds to organizations that will be highly impacted by their receipt. To that end, we try to seek out small, struggling, or start-up programmes especially those in less populated areas, that support the queer community in a variety of ways. We support youth, health, social, and arts organizations. We aim to make our grants have the most impact possible and by focusing on groups that operate on shoestring budgets or groups that bring essential services such as counselling and support to queer youth, we intend to meet that goal.

Black Lives Matter
Black LivesMatter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc. is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes.

Rainbow Railroad
Rainbow Railroad believes that governments around the globe should enact and enforce laws and policies that protect LGBTQI individuals and enable them to live in freedom and safety in their own country. However, until that day arrives, Rainbow Railroad is focused on providing solutions for LGBTQI people who need immediate assistance because they are facing a serious threat to their lives and safety.
